Thanks everyone! its been 14 days now and I almost cracked this weekend, Saturday was really tough on me, I thought about just going to the store a few times that day but I would just talk myself out of it and remind myself that I needed to be strong! and after a while the stress would wind down the irritability would diminish and the cravings would disappear and I would be back to my normal self!

Most of us failed miserably at first. It takes most people about 7-8 attempts to quit smoking before they are able to do so. Each attempt is a learning experience. So we get better at it each time. Read as many posts as possible, especially go through 'Introductions'. What goes for one there, often goes for all. Be sure to go through 'My Program'.
My Mileage:
My Quit Date: 5/1/2009 Smoke-Free Days: 456 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,768 Amount Saved: $5,426.40 Life Gained: Days: 51 Hrs: 8 Mins: 23 Seconds: 43
Been There. Done That.

Luckily for me I am not alone in Quitting, my hubby, my brother, and my sister-in-law are all quitting with me so we will all be able to offer each other support, and I am also hoping to be able to draw support from here when things get really tough. We are all approaching it in a different way and with different quit dates, my hubby and sister-in-law
are trying cold turkey he started tuesday, she started today, I am trying natural remedies started monday and my brother is
trying the low level laser started yesterday, so i will make sure to keep everyone in the
know on what works for us and what doesn't.
My Mileage:
My Quit Date: 7/26/2010 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $8.10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 17 Seconds: 38

Lil Monkey, you mention you think it is going to get harder; what is your plan for when it does?

I decided to Quit on Monday just past so I have been 4 days so far... this is the second time I have tried to quit in the last year and a half and last time i failed miserably.... so far I am already doing better, barely having any cravings and am in a much better mood.... I just know it is probably going to get harder before it gets easier and I figure the best support is other people that have done the same thing, I had decided to try using the thrive losenges but found that they tasted like battery acid! I am now trying the natural remedies such as vitamin c, magnesium, chlorella(algae capsules), and cream of tartar which apparently flushes the nicotine out of your system and is not bad for you, it is a powder that you put one teaspoon into a glass of orange juice, grapefruit juice, or pineapple juice before bed. just thought i would throw out the tips for others to try.... the cream of tartar is used for 7 days and in that time should flush all nicotine out of your system completely ridding you of cravings!
