Hi Kat,
Great work on being smoke-free for 5 days! It sounds like you have put in place a reward system, good on you! If you haven't yet done so, check out milestone 5 where you can set up a reward plan. This section of the program also gives some sample reward ideas etc. How will this actually be helpful to you?
Members, how have rewards shaped your quit experience? How did milestone 5 assist you?

Well ... so far so good ... smoke free! It's not been easy but I'm doin it! I think ... maybe just maybe it's starting to get easier. My reward at the end of the week is being able to go to Luneburg, NS, with my two Aussies for a Flyball tournament! Yeah!
Kat.

I like your phrase "retrain your brain to have fun" because sometimes that is very similar to some of my thoughts.

Welcome Kat!
Congratulations on getting down to one cigarette a day and setting your quit date. This is an amazing achievement; it takes lots of preparation and hard work so good for you! Continue to prepare and increase your confidence by working your way through the online program. This program is full of essential information you will need to arm yourself while beating this addiction.
If tomorrow is your quit date set up your quit meter so it can be displayed on your posts. (You do this in your personal profile). You can watch your numbers increase in days quit, money saved and days of life earned. This also allows us to celebrate all of your success with you. How do you plan on celebrating tomorrow? Remember rewards and celebrating every little success is a great motivator.
What motivated you to come here today?

Kat, welcome to the SSC and Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking! Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your new smoke free life!!!
Set up your quit meter and add it to your posts from "my profile". Go through "my program" so you have a quit plan in place! Read, read, and read some more as there is a wealth of knowledge on this site! Post as often as you need, if only to rant and rave. And lastly, set up a reward system (small reward for each passed craving, medium reward for each smoke free day, and a larger reward for each smoke free week). You need to train your brain that you can have fun without smoking! We're all rooting for your success!
My Mileage:
My Quit Date: 8/20/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 708 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 28,320 Amount Saved: $7,080.00 Life Gained: Days: 108 Hrs: 23 Mins: 50 Seconds: 51
